Sam, Ashley, and Benjamin

In this update we wish to thank the many people who have helped us the last few months.  Although this does not even touch on the countless acts of kindness, we'll tell you about a few recent events.

On June 6th and 7th we had probably the largest yard sale in the history of Utah County.  After months of preparation (gathering donated items, sorting, sorting, sorting, loading and unloading...) the sale was a GIGANTIC success.  Special thanks to Brett & Megan Stubbs, Blair & Holly Hasler, Rich & Sarah Larsen, and the entire Garden 7th ward.  Even members of our stake donated their time.  We are so grateful for the thousands of hours donated on our behalf.  It is really humbling to see our friends, and even people who don't know us, give so much to help.  We have truly felt the love of our Savior through these acts of service.

On June 28th we were privileged to be the sponsees for the 3rd Annual Golf Tournament of Today's First Step, A Foundation for Spinal Cord Injuries.  Over 100 people golfed and then ate at a luncheon following the tournament.  It was a beautiful day and we think everyone really enjoyed it.  The Blanchards are amazing!  Thanks again to Matt & Natalie and Ben & Jill Blanchard.  Next year we're looking forward to helping the Blanchard family find a deserving sponsor and participating more actively in the planning and preparation of the tournament.

June 30th we were in the newspaper (again!).  The yard sale was covered in Deseret News on June 6th, 7th, and 8th.

And, there's a story about Sam's recovery in the Daily Herald (June 30th).  You can read about it at www.heraldextra.com.  The title of the article is The Long Road to Recovery

Hi Sam and Ashley,
We are happy for your progress and will let our prayer partners at church know how you are doing.
Grandma Dora is wondering if she gave her red photo album to you. She agonizes and obsesses over it every day. If any of your siblings or you know where it might be, please let me know. I will pay the postage to return it to her. She has had many mini strokes so there are holes in her memory. She has searched her one room apartment many times and can't find it. If she has been unkind to you, please forgive her, because she can't help it. It is common for stroke patients to have frequent personality changes. We will continue to keep your beautiful little family in our prayers. Love, Aunt Evie
